Introduction

I’m a senior web developer with over ten years experience.

For the past two years I worked as the lead interface developer at Orchard Marketing for a number of prominent clients with responsibility for front-end development, search engine optimisation, and accessibility. The role also involved working with flash developers, contractors, and junior interface developers.

I’ve worked a variety of roles since starting my career as a developer in the financial sector. I've worked for small businesses, large agencies, online adservers, and performed search engine optimisation and marketing, systems support, and interface development.

Interests

I’m interested in technology and the way it is influencing our lives, specifically issues like online and personal publishing and its effect on traditional media, changes in search technologies, the future of cloud computing, the growing use of mobile technology to access the web, and the utility of social networks.

Being self-educated in technical matters, I spend a decent amount of time reading online to stay current with best practices and learn new techniques and technologies.

Offline I’m interested in reading and collecting books, taking photos, cellaring wine, and listening to music - particularly jazz from the post-bop era of the late fifties to the early sixties.
